DANNY VIRTUE left Vancouver to join the circus at 14 – a sixth-grade dropout with a reading disability, ready to learn about life and loyalty from circus performers and drug smugglers, Hell’s Angels and Hollywood stars, movie agents and mafia dons.
After a decade of hustling for money and success, Danny Virtue found himself facing addiction, a lengthy prison term and a critical crossroads. He made the decision to get sober and get serious, beginning a legendary 50-year career as a stunt performer, animal trainer, producer, and director. He worked alongside the biggest stars in Hollywood; became a mentor to young actors, stunt performers, and aspiring production talent; and was instrumental in establishing British Columbia as "Hollywood North."
With a life shaped by challenges, Virtue used his tough-guy beginnings to inspire kids in difficult circumstances to find their own path to a better life. He created the Danny Virtue Foundation, and his philanthropic efforts earned numerous awards, including the Peter Ustinov Humanitarian Award and, in 2025, the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
The Life of Virtue is an inspirational story filled with the elements of a Hollywood blockbuster – action, humor, tragedy, and transformation. It’s a triumphant tale of fighting for survival, choosing success, and discovering the lasting impact of helping others.
